About the Olympiads

The National Sanskrit Olympiad 2026-27 is conducted to promote interest, excellence, and awareness in the Sanskrit language among school students across India. This national-level academic competition encourages students to strengthen their language skills, analytical thinking, and knowledge of Sanskrit literature and vocabulary.

  • Students studying in Classes VI, VII, VIII, IX and X
  • Medium of Examination: Sanskrit
  • Open to CBSE / ICSE / SSC / State Board Schools.

Examination Pattern

Step 1

Level 1 Examination

  • Date 6 Dec 2026 (Tentative)
  • Duration 50 Minutes
  • Questions 60 MCQs
  • Negative Marking No

Students scoring 80% (48 marks) and above will qualify for Level 2.

Step 2

Level 2 Examination

  • Date 31 Jan 2027 (Tentative)
  • Duration 50 Minutes
  • Questions 60 MCQs
  • Negative Marking ½ mark

Tie-Breaker: An Online Oral Test will determine Top 2 National Toppers in case of equal marks.
